Mindful Painting Workshops at AFK

Mindful Painting Experience is a creative expressive art used to paint one's inner landscape, support mental health, enhance clinical skills and provide self-care. As the painter practices mindfulness, they become present in their own internal process.

During these sessions you will learn the basics of painting, drawing, creating art, for emotional release and meditating to relax as well as improve focus.

Mehreen Hashmi is an interdisciplinary visual artist from Karachi, exhibiting in different countries for a decade. Her work narrates her own catharsis of her healing journey from her traumas. She has been exhibiting for art activism and creating awareness for trauma survivors and mental health struggles throughout these years. Her work has been exhibited in London, Netherlands, Nepal, Yanjiao Biennale, and several other countries. She was awarded ‘Millennial of inspiration’ by Ladies Fund in 2018. These sessions of mindful painting are designed to help with self-catharsis, expression, and emotional health. She is sharing her experience of healing through painting.
